Sweet Berry Farms

When we first moved here, we asked where the best pumpkin patch was in the area. Know what the response was? A truckload of pumpkins on a "patch" of lawn outside a local church. There are officially no real pumpkin patches within an hour of us, so we had to drive forever and a day away to get to this place, but we figured it was something to do, so we went. Let me tell you, it was no Oregon pumpkin patch, but we still had a good time. The weather was perfect (we even got to wear pants!) and the activities were fun. It definitely got us in the Fall spirit.

I love this picture. It really showcases what a tender sweet brother Jaimason is to Maleah. He is always so gentle and patient and kind to her.

Jaimason and Ben went through the kiddie maze together (the "Texas Maze" was bigger-- but way more expensive. There's no way I'm spending over $20 on a maze!) Here are our victorious champions:

The petting zoo was definitely a highlight. Maleah LOVED the goats and kept trying to grab them. Jaimason had a blast feeding them some goat food, too.

We also rode the hayride, which was very entertaining. They had arranged several scarecrows doing various funny activities along the path. It was clever and fun to see. I just wish the driver hadn't driven so fast. There was no way we got any good pictures with him driving 400 miles per hour.

We tried to get some cute pictures of the kids among the pumpkins (for like half an hour!), but we had no luck. This is the best we got, and it's only of Maleah.

However, we did get these funny pictures a little later. The cutouts were way too high for the kids to look through on their own, so I was behind the board with the kids, holding one up with each arm, praying that Ben would take the picture as quickly as possible.

To finish off the day, we picked out our pumpkins (obviously) and tried some of their homemade pumpkin and strawberry ice creams, made with their own grown produce. Very tasty!!

I had to go back to Jaimason's birthday to catch up, but what fun things you've done! That birthday party was SO cool, way to go Jaimason for being such a cool kid, AND class president! I love that he worked the words synergize and proactive into his speech...seriously what a great kid! Looks like you've had a great fall!
