Happy Valentine's Day

For Valentine's Day, we didn't do anything particularly special, but Jaimason said it was the best day of his life, ever, so I can check it off as a success.

We started out the day with heart-shaped pink pancakes, and hash browns with red ketchup hearts on it, with a side of pink milk, of course. Every holiday has to have colored milk or it just wouldn't be a holiday.

Both Ben and Jaimason got Valentine Peeps at their breakfast plate. Ben wasn't awake when Jaimason ate breakfast so Jaimason told me to take a picture of the "delight" on Ben's face when he saw his Peep. I did...and this is it:

During the day, I had the privilege of throwing Jaimason's class Valentine's Party. We played Bingo, Fruit Basket Upset with hearts, and decorated sugar cookies. They also got to hand out their Valentines, of course. They were each responsible for decorating a Valentine box to keep all their valentines in. Jaimason chose to make his look like Perry the Platypus from the Disney show Phineas and Ferb. He did an excellent job! He colored the entire box teal because we didn't have any teal paint or paper. He even gave him legs and feet to stand on.

After school, we spent the day just relaxing and hanging out together. He passed out some Valentines to his friends and spent some time at his friend Tyden's house. Then Jaimason got a Happy Meal from McDonalds for dinner....a dream come true for him.

Later that evening, it was the adult's time to celebrate. This year, we chose to cook Thai food together. We made Pad Thai for our first time, and it was delicious. The taste definitely made up for the fact that Ben didn't get home from work until well after 7pm.

Valentine's Day is nothing grand in our house, but we sure had fun celebrating our love for each other. Hope your V-Day was just as special!
