Christmas at the Trenholm House--Christmas Day

Christmas Day was a whirlwind of activity. As Christmas fell on a Sunday this year, we were struggling trying to figure out how to work everything out. We didn't want to wake up at 4:00 am to open all the presents before church, and we thought maybe just opening the gifts from Santa before church would be too much of a distraction so in the end, we settled on opening all presents--even Santa's-- AFTER church. Talk about a long church day! We decided to focus our time on making a big yummy Christmas breakfast. Consequently, there was a big ol' sheet hung up across the doorway to the living room when we woke up on Christmas morning.
Ooooh, the mystery!

The kids looked so good dressed in their Christmas outfits.
My mom sent Maleah a pretty dress to wear, and I made the headband and bow to go along with it.
Jaimason's tie and belt came from Santa...special presents he left on the table by his plate of half-eaten cookies and note.

The whole family dressed to impress...don't mind me, who's the only odd one out in purple (gasp!)

After church, we rushed home to change (into our jammies, of course. We really wanted it to feel like Christmas morning) and open presents. And oh, what presents there were! We got royally spoiled this year!

(For journaling purposes)
Maleah
Purse, Goldfish crackers, hairbands, bows, a mailbox toy, xylophone, pink SUV car, stacking/nesting balls, 2 bath toys, books, 2 pairs of boots, doll, and probably a lot more I can't think of.
Jaimason
7 Lego sets, Plants vs. Zombies video game, a Primary song piano, 3 books, candy, Spiderman costume, clock radio, Zhu Zhu pet tank, Creepy Crawlers oven, Hot Wheels cars, nuts, 2 puzzles, Motorcycle racer toy, and even more!

Shaunelle
Vitamix food processor, cake platter, cookie scoop, pie server, jar opener, egg separator, pedicure, new tupperware, spatula, necklace, Christmas soap, nuts, formula dispenser, etc. All stuff I asked for!

Ben
Xbox 360, Tiger Woods golf Wii game, slippers, date with Jaimason to Dairy Queen, photo mousepad, mouse, mini Skee-ball game, Risk board game, and gift cards to Wendy's and Chick-Fil-A.

Family
Book of Mormon for Latter-Day Saint Families, portable DVD player, new frying pans, Chinese checkers, checkers, Rummikub, Kirby's Epic Yarn video game, and the Holy Family Willow Tree statue.

The aftermath of Christmas. We had to move our furniture around just to fit!

That evening, we went to our friends, the Jones', to have dinner. It was a very pleasant, wonderful day.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!
