Austin Fair and Rodeo

This St. Patrick's Day, we had the privilege of going to the Austin Fair and Rodeo again. We went 2 years ago, but missed it last year because of Maleah's birth, so we were really excited to be able to attend again this year.

They have a BBQ Cook-Off every year that's completely FREE, which is our favorite part of the fair. It's so fun to walk around to the different tents and try some delicious barbecue and drinks....all for FREE!

They also have some very fun and unique fried food, which we always like to try out. Last time we went, we tried a fried Snickers bar. This year, we decided to try....wait for it....fried red velvet Oreos! YUM! They were delicious!Remember this picture from last time we had a fried Snickers?

Well, here's another goody of Ben enjoying his equally artery-busting fried Oreos:

Don't worry, Shaunelle enjoyed them, too!

We watched a (lame) shootout show, which Jaimason said was his favorite part, and afterward, he got pictures with the "real cowboys!"
Maleah's favorite part was the petting zoo, of course. She LOVES animals and was in hog-heaven (no pun intended)!

Some other highlights from the day:

Ok when we plan our big Texas trip, (someday...) we're planning it around the Austin Fair! This looks like such a fun family activity! And Maleah and Jaimason are so cute! One year olds are so much fun and I just love the pictures from Maleah's birthday posts!
