7 Months Old

Wow! Between 6 months and 7 months, this little girl has exploded with new skills!

She can get up on her hands and knees and rocks herself back and forth...but hasn't quite figured out how to put one hand in front of the other to crawl forward. She'll be there all too soon, and let me tell you, I'm not excited about it! She's already way too mobile and curious and gets into everything! Life is about to get pretty crazy soon!

She now sits up unassisted! This new skill has changed our world. Now she is so much more happy when we're out on walks or at the grocery store, because she can sit up and see the world better. I put her upright in the cart just the other day for the first time, and she was extremely excited. She kept bucking and squealing and talking to everyone that passed. It was adorable. She made a lot of new friends that day!

We graduated from her bassinet to the crib last night. Sad day for us all! She looks so tiny in that big crib all by herself.

She ate her first Cheerio the other day. Loved the flavor, didn't really like the texture. When she tried to swallow it, she kept coughing because it was so unfamiliar to her. We'll get there.

She plays Peek-A-Boo all by herself now. She'll pull the blanket up over her face and wait for you to say "Where's Maleah?" then she'll kick her legs and get so excited and pull the blanket down off her face and squeal and laugh when you say "Boo!" It's cute, because her coordination is still off, so it takes her a while to put the blanket on her face, and she won't be satisfied until both of her eyes are covered.

She started saying other "words" other than "ah!" She now says "ma-ma" (obviously not about me, but it still sounds good to hear).

My milk never came back. In fact, it just kept getting worse. Now we are strictly on formula by default. It was kind of sad for me, and so frustrating that I had no control over when to nurse my daughter, but I have to say, bottles are very convenient. I love that Jaimason or Ben can feed her now. She can even feed herself! And it's great that I can leave her for longer than 3 hours if I need to and not even have to worry.

She's still as happy as ever and such a good little girl.She's rarely fussy, she sleeps like a champ, and she just goes with the flow. She's contagiously happy almost always and makes you just want to squeeze the daylights out of her. We love her!
