End of Summer --Party!

We saved the best activity for last during our End of Summer celebration. Jaimason was allowed to invite 3 friends over for a party. They. had. so. much. fun!

First, they roasted hot dogs for dinner (after a very long battle to get the fire started in the wind). One of Jaimason's friends ended up not being able to come at the last minute so there was an extra seat at the dinner table. We let Maleah sit with the boys and boy, did she think she was hot stuff! The kids were goofing off and telling jokes and every time they laughed, she laughed right along with them. It was so cute!

After dinner, we played some fun water games. For the first game, the boys were supposed to jump rope while holding a cup of water on their heads. Turns out jump rope is a lost art. Not one of them knew how to jump rope, but they all got wet and had fun trying.

The second game was hilarious. I had frozen some wet t-shirts earlier on. The boys raced to see who could get his t-shirt on the fastest. All their teeth were chattering by the end; the shirts were so cold.

We also played water limbo, sponge tag, and had a water balloon fight. I think sponge tag was their favorite game.  At one point, they took turns standing against the fence while the other boys threw wet sponges at them.

When games were over, we roasted marshmallows for some good old-fashioned s'mores. One of the kids had never even heard of s'mores! He loved it!

At the end of the party, none of the kids wanted to leave, so I'm guessing that means it was a success! One point for mom!
